Use what you have learned in FS 101 to petition the NFPA.

Persuade the NFPA to make changes by addressing concerns you have regarding the current practices and standards as well as the various job performance requirements (JPF’s) in the current standard.

Write a 2–3-page persuasive essay to the NFPA committee detailing your concerns. In your essay, establish the issue and why it concerns you; describe, analyze, and prioritize the facts; analyze some opposing viewpoints, and formulate conclusions regarding what could be added to the standard to make it applicable to the needs of firefighters being trained for interior fire operations.

Address a minimum of three changes and justify each to the NFPA committee citing sources where applicable.
