QUESTION

wanted to produce the same CM energy as LEP, but using protons directed onto a fixed proton target, what would be the LAB beam energy of the protons?...

If I wanted to produce the same CM energy as LEP, but using protons directed onto a fixed proton target, what would be the LAB beam energy of the protons? What would the beam energy be if I used electrons in the beam, and also in the target? If I used the same B field strength as the guiding (bending) magnets in LEP, what would be the diameter of this electron accelerator? Does that sound ridiculous?
