We've been discussing outsourcing jobs overseas and the effect on international trade. On CBS 60 Minutes there was a segment on the H1B visa which was supposed to be used to bring in people from other countries to work in jobs where there were not enough US employees with the needed skills to fill the positions. However the report discussed that it is being used to replace US workers in a number of companies here at home at a lower wage, with in many instances, the US employee being replaced required to train their replacement or they will not receive their severance pay. How does this affect international trade?
