Firefighters must work in a structured environment.  The Incident Command System and the National Incident Management System bring structure to the fire service.

After completing this week's readings and conducting your research into this topic, write a paper that answers the following:

1. Discuss the history of the Incident Command System

2. Discuss the history of the National Incident Management System

3. Explain why both are so important to the professional firefighter?
