As noted above, the local topography of Chicago and the suburban region is a landscape born of ice, a product of the latest Ice Age. Chapter 19 of the textbook describes glacial processes and their impacts upon the land. Describe this influence of ice in terms of the general lay of the land, the soil quality & agriculture, the presence of Lake Michigan, the marshes (where the Chicago River met Lake Michigan, along the Des Plaines River), and why is there a place called Blue Island far from water. Just a word of advice, but if you don't have two to three paragraphs for this answer, then you are likely missing something.
