Weeks ago, the Russian Parliament voted to decriminalize certain acts of domestic violence, where it does not cause "substantial bodily harm" and does not occur more than once a year. This move makes the violation punishable with a $500 fine or a 15 day arrest.
Is this a good idea/viable option? Should the US follow suit? What implications might this have for victims and perpetrators?
