What are some examples of refraction of light?

Well, refraction of light is bending the path of the light so that its direction of propagation changes, as shown below.

This picture is an example of light being refracted through a rectangular prism. Refraction occurs whenever light passes from a region or medium with one index of refraction to a region or medium with a different index of refraction. Another example is light going through water which can be demonstrated with a pencil in a beaker of water.

Also a magnifying glass refracts light because it has to bend light to different angles to be able to focus to a point.
