What causes ringworm ? What's it's span in the host body ?
Ringworm is a common and highly infectious skin infection (usually fungal ) that causes a ring-like red rash on the skin. There are several fungal and other causes. It is medically called tinea.
The fungi feeds on keratin, the material found in the outer layer of skin, hair, and nails. About 20% of the population carries ringworm.
Spores may survive 12 months or even as long as two years on hair. It is possible that without treatment, it will not just go away.
