QUESTION

What did the 14th Amendment do? How did it attempt to protect African Americans?

The 14th amendment grants citizenship to "all persons born or naturalized in the U.S".

This protected the African Americans because it gave them the right to freedom so no Caucasian (white) cant remove them from the country or say they don't belong there because they have the right. This situation relates to Brown vs. The Board Of Education when back then there was segregation and the blacks went to public schools while the whites went to private schools. The U.S supreme court used the 14th amendment for declaring school segregation unconstitutional. P.S don't be lazy there's internet search it up. LOL
