What do these terms mean?

For the assignment's first portion, you will need to define the following concepts (in your own words!):

1. Culture 
2. Ethnic group 
3. Race (and whether the category is relevant) 
4. Socioeconomic status (SES) [describe what factors influence SES]

What do these concepts mean to ME?

For the assignment's second portion, you will consider each of these concepts and how each of them has personally influenced your development in some way. 

There is absolutely no instance where you state 'this particular topic does not influence me in any way' as this is simply factually incorrect. All of these topics influence everyone at some time. This is your time to think CRITICALLY.  Elaborate your point on each question. 

Certain examples that may come up are: (a) parenting styles, (b) nutrition, (c) gender roles, (d) childhood trauma, (e) psychopathology.  [NOTE: This is not an exhaustive list; many other factors are involved in development]

1. How has culture influenced your development? 
2. How has your ethnic group influenced your development? 
3. How has your race status influenced your development? 
4. How has your SES influenced your development?

The assignment should be at LEAST be 3 pages long, 12 pt font (Times New Roman), double spaced. DO NOT add in these instructions in your assignment to make your paper seem longer. This should be in essay format! If you are having trouble with finding relevant examples, go back to the textbook and read the different situations each concepts can manifest themselves in.
