Leaders create the direction for an organization, and it the managers who galvanize employees towards that direction. From creating teams to developing goals, from generating revenues to address conflict, manager serve a unique and crucial role in an organization, and to a considerable degree their effectiveness in that position determines the success and failure of an organization to reach its ambitions. Managers have their own style and approach, of course, but those styles must be consistent not only with the industry in which they work, but in the business policies sought by the organization. For instance, organizations that promote an “employee friendly” culture may not seek a manager whose style is aggressive or abrasive; on the other hand, and organizations seeking greater market share may seek a manager whose style tends to be more aggressive.
