What is a homogeneous mixture?
A homogeneous mixture (or solution) is one in which there is total and complete mixing, and the entire material has utterly uniform composition. Examples of this include salt water, air, and steel.
On the other hand, a heterogeneous mixture is one in which the components are not entirely and completely mixed. In other words, if you were to take a very small sample from one part of the mixture and compare it to a very small sample from another part of the mixture, there would be the possibility that the samples wouldn't contain the same thing. Examples of this include a puppy, one of those sparkly rocks, and the city of Spokane, Washington.
OK.
