What is a hypothesis in chemistry?

hypothesis is the thought a person has that he/she thinks will happen during or after experiment.

whereby a person is doing and experiment to find out how sand separate from salt. He/She thinks that the salt will be dissolved into the water and the sand will be left settled at the bottom. Then he/she will strain the water leaving the sand undissolved and in the strainer.
