What is a reflex response?

the simplest form of response in nervous system is reflex action

this is rapid, automatic response to a stimulus which is not under voluntary control of brain . moving our hand away on touching a hot plate is a reflex action. the pathway taken by nerve impulses in reflex action is called reflex arc . it is an automatic response to stimulus. coughing and sneezing are also reflex actions.
