What is a triglyceride made of?

Glycerol is a colorless, odorless and viscous liquid.
It's IUPAC name is propan-1,2,3-triol.
A fatty acid is a long chain of carbons and hydrogens with a carboxylic acid group (-COOH) at one end:
A triglyceride is formed when each fatty acid molecule is placed in front of each of the (-OH) group of glycerol:
The (-OH) from the carboxylic acid group breaks off and forms water by taking the H atom opposite (from the glycerol). This happens at three places and hence 3 water molecules are formed.
At last the Triglyceride or Triacyl gycerol is formed . " Tri " means 3 (fatty acids).
