What is displacement?
Displacement is a vector qunatity that tells us how far and in what direction something is compared to where it started.
If I start out at the front door to my home (in Arizona) travel to Chicago, IL and then Anaheim, CA and return home to my front door, my displacement is 0 because I ended up exactly where I started. The distance (a scalar quantity) that I traveled is not zero, but my displacement is 0.
Remember to only consider where you ended and where you began to determine displacement. Don't worry about how far you traveled to get for one place to the other.
