What is Pangea?

Pangaea was the supercontinent that existed during the late Paleozoic roughly 300 million years ago. It was surrounded by a superocean called Panthalassa.

The break up of the occurred supercontinent occurred after about 100 million years as the Americas split away from Europe and Africa. India which was formerly part of the southern portion of Africa and drifted north and slammed into Asia forming the Himalayas.
