What is polarity?
It is the difference in electronegativity between two atoms.
Polarity arises when an electronegative and an electropositive atom bond together. For instance, an oxygen bonded to a hydrogen (in the case of water) would be considered polar. Inversely, a carbon bonded to a hydrogen would not be polar.
