What is the definition of real politik in recent world history

Real Politik is the use of political pragmatism without moral or ethical standards. Can be used as a pejorative. The actions of Otto Von Bismarck in creating the German Nation was an early example.

The actions of Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger during the 1970s with Foreign Policy in South-East Asia could be seen as Real Politik.

A more modern example would be the actions of Vladimir Putin of Russia.
