What is the difference between a limiting reactant and an excess reactant?

Excess reactant is not finished even when reaction ends whereas limiting reactant is one that is finished when reaction ends as name shows limiting reactant is reason reaction ends.

Limiting reactant produces least moles of product whereas amount produced by excess reactant is never formed
