What is the difference between an equilateral triangle and an isosceles triangle?
Equilateral Triangles are triangles where all the sides and angles are the same. Angles are always ##60°##.
Think "Equi=Equal" and "lateral = side"
Isosceles Triangles are triangles with two sides and their opposite angles being equal. Angle measurements can vary.
Depending on the definition used, Isosceles Triangles can either have "exactly two" equal sides or "at least two" equal sides.
The latter definition includes Equilateral Triangles as a special case of Isosceles Triangles, as due to their nature of all their sides being equal, they meet the "at least two" condition needed.
