QUESTION

What is the square root of x^12?

##x^6##

##sqrt(x^12)= (x^12 )^(1/2)= x^6##

Law of Exponent ( ##x^m )^(n")## = ##x^(mn)##

So, ##12(1/2) = 6##

Note: Index of a radical is written as a denominator when expressed in exponential form. so, the index of the radical square root of a number is 2. Or the radical without the index when expressed to exponential form , the radical symbol is equal to 1/2

Another method

Observe that ##x^12## is a perfect square because the exponent is divisible by two.. Just divide the exponent 12 by 2.
