What response is adrenaline responsible for?

Adrenaline, also called epinephrine, is a hormone that triggers the body's so called fight-or-flight response. It is produced when a situation requires immediate action.
Adrenaline is produced in stressful situations by the adrenal glands. The hormone prepares your body for immediate action by:
- increasing blood pressure
- expanding airways
- directing blood towards heart and lungs
- reducing pain sensibility
- dilation of the pupil
- altering metabolism to release sufficient amount of glucose as a source of energy
