What were the problems with the theory of continental drift?
One main reason:
The idea that something so great as a continent could move around as easily as a toy in the bathtub was preposterous. The problem was that they could not find the source of such power that would force the land to separate in such a way, so they denied this theory. Though of course scientist have placed Plate Tectonics as the explanation to the driving force.
