For this discussion, here is what you need to do.

1) Read Plato's "Allegory of the Cave" (p. 242-248 of Think with Socrates).

2) Apply Plato’s allegory of the cave to modern times. What do you think Plato would say if he were alive today? What would the cave represent? How about the prisoners, the shadows on the wall, the marionette players, the fire, and the area outside the cave? In other words, explain the allegory from a modern perspective, applying it to contemporary times and events. Give some current examples to support your interpretation.
