When companies connect to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) like AT&T, Verizon, and others, there is a good chance that they have some sort of redundancy in case their primary path to the Internet goes down. There are four (4) primary classifications of connections that exist: single-homed, dual-homed, multihomed, and dual multihomed. Your task for this post is to compare and contrast the different connectivity methods with a focus on questions like: Is one better than all the others? What if cost is an issue? How might this impact the amount of hardware required? Are there security issues? Be sure to provide a sample use case for each of the different approaches.
