Suppose you are interested in determining whether East High School students performed better than the state average on the state proficiency exam. There are 400 students who took the test at East High School. The state exam has a population mean of 500 and a population standard deviation of 100. The average score for the students at East High was 510 points. What can you conclude?

Answer: Students at East High performed better at the 10% and 5% levels of significance, but not better at the 1% level of significance

I computed a t-test value = 2. When I look at the t-table, how do i know if I am supposed to look in the columns as a 1-tail test (0.1, 0.05, 0.01) or 2-tail test (0.05, 0.025, 0.005)?
