When thinking about a situation where a leader made a bad decision that led to a good outcome, I'm remiinded of my previous employer in retail at a pawn shop. Back at that store, my boss agreed to repawn a customer's item for 2 months instead of the standard 3 established for the company. The good outcome occurred because the customer left satisfied that even though they didn't get as much as they had hoped, they still managed to get some money out of their item and nobody complained. When the leader had to make more decisions afterwards, what happened was that he had to use more caution since that was an unorthodox transaction that the company does not usually perform and goes out of their regulations. The store still managed to make its profit margin for the next period, but the results weren't as plentiful as they could have been.
