Where does meiosis occur in the human body?
It produces sex cells (gametes). Depending on the gender, it occurs in the testis in males and ovaries in females. For females, the sex cells are formed before their birth, and thus have a fixed number of gametes. For males, sperm can be produced from puberty onwards.
