4. How does management attempt to CONTROL their employees? Is this done in a positive or negative context?

Businesses don't become stupid and lose focus overnight. Becoming a large organization makes it too difficult to manage and you lose control and communication fails to happen. Money is wasted and quality slips. Toyota had more recalls in in recent years than they have ever had in their history. What causes this to happen? I say it's predictable, as you grow you make the business a more complex entity.
