Witness credibility is crucial to the United States criminal justice system.  However, to error is to be human.  Unfortunately, that error may result in the conviction of the wrong person.  

Read or listen to the book "Picking Cotton: Our Memoir of Injustice and Redemption" by Jennifer Thompson-Cannino and Ronald Cotton.  This book is available free at some local libraries and Amazon Audible or you may purchase an electronic/paperback version.  Do not utilize the internet to piece together the story.  There are many details you will miss by doing this and rob yourself of knowledge gained from this assignment.
