Before the civil war in Syria, the country had great potential in terms of economic growth. However, it has been different as a result of the war in the country. In an argument by El-Khatib et.al Syria is a perfect example of deteriorating economy as a cause of conflicts in Arabic nations (8). The economy of Syria was supported by a perfect education and healthcare system. El-Khatib et.al point out that the United Nations had less to worry about the Millennium Development Goals in Syria before 2007 (8).
