This article is based on a theoretical, or context approach, of subjective well-being. The focus of psychological wellness covers six major areas (Autonomy, Environmental Mastery, Personal Growth, Positive Relations, Life Purpose, and Self-Acceptance) and examines how these aspects are shaped by social factors such as age, gender, race, culture, and social status as well as how challenges and transitions experienced in life affect overall health and well-being. Within this article, the intended audience was unclear, other than perhaps that of psychological professionals or those researching the topic of well-being. nonetheless, both of the authors are quite knowledgeable on the subject, with backgrounds in Social Psychology and Public Health, and offer an abundance of resources.
