The political tensions are still known to be building up within the state however it is improving in the sector of health and education (BBC News 2011. Whyte & Lin 2010). Sites of Interest and Climate The sites of tourist attractions in Bangladesh are the great mountains of Himalayas which are north to the state and the Bay of Bengal which lays south to the state. It offers different sites of attraction for the tourists which include archaeological sites, mosques, beaches, forests and a rich flora and fauna. Bangladesh has the longest continuous stretch of beaches which extend for around 74 miles. Along with the beaches the Chittagong Hill tracts are a sight which every tourist would want to see. These forests extend with the beaches over a large area. The flora and fauna are appreciated by many tourists who visit Bangladesh as they include many tropical fruits such as bananas and papayas along with abundant animal forms (Whyte & Lin 2010. BBC News 2011). The climate in Bangladesh is a humid monsoon one as it has a huge beach with it. Three seasons are found over the year in the state. The months of March and June witness a hot humid weather whereas a rainy weather is seen from May to October. The remaining months a cool dry weather is seen in most of the areas of Bangladesh. Rice is the most important product for the agricultural sector as it is the major export of the country (CIA 2011. BBC News 2011). The most famous animal in Bangladesh is the Bengal tiger. Along with the tiger several other species of mammals and birds can be found in the country. Elephants, deer, turtles, monkeys, crocodiles and lizards can be found abundantly in the country. Deciduous forests, acacia, banyan, sundari, garyan and fruit trees can be commonly found in the country (Whyte & Lin 2010). Customs and Traditions Bangladesh is a country which is known for its traditions and festivals which are celebrated by the people. Some of the practices and traditions of these people revolve around the agricultural sector. Nabonno and pawhela boisakh are celebrated as the agricultural festivals in which the Bengalis celebrate the new harvest. Boisakh on the other hand is the Bengali New year celebrated by the Bengalis. Most of the people living in Bangladesh are Muslims and hence they celebrate the festivals as laid down by Islam. Eid is celebrated by the muslims along with other important festivals such as Shab-e-Barat and Shab-e-Qadr. Hindus celebrate Durga Puja, Kali Puja and Janmastami and the Buddhists celebrate Purnima.
