Using different quantitative analytical tools and psychological techniques to assess mental problems of individual, majority of psychologist believe that an analytical treatment is better to medicine and other interpersonal intervention. According to (Milrod et al., 2014) 70% of separation anxiety cases are managed through cognitive behavioural therapy, which is an aspect of psychotherapy. Cognitive behavioural therapy performs by shaping of the thinking process of a child thus the child is helped to overcome the unconscious events that trigger anxiety episodes. The use of psychotherapy in management of separation anxiety is thus a permanent management procedure of the psychological problem.

Family therapy as another aspect of psychotherapy equally offers excellent results in the management of separation anxiety.
