Write a 3 page essay on Frequency, Outcome and Prevention of elevated Troponin Levels in Acute Ishemic Patients.
Ischemia results when there is a low blood supply with less amount of oxygen as required by the organ to function properly. When it reaches local area or particular tissue due to presence of a clot or constriction of artery due to atherosclerosis, or as a result of some other pathological event due to which an irreversible damage occurs to cells of that area followed by gradual release of myofibril cytosolic complexes. Ischemia usually affects brain and heart as they are more dependent on oxygen to carry out their functions properly and it might even result into the shutdown of an organ as all body tissues are dependent on oxygen supply. Ischemia might sometimes cause heart attack, stroke, in some cases intestinal rupture, and gangrene leading to amputation to save ones life.
In the past researches have emphasized on the fact that levels of troponin increased after irreversible myocardial necrosis occurrence. However in recent decades other researches came up with the conclusion that levels of troponin tends to increase in patients suffering from unstable angina. for temporary time period and thus returning back to normal after some time. In case of myocardial damage troponin levels might not behave the way they have behaved in patient suffering from unstable angina. So it is emphasized upon that myocardial troponin is released after increased membrane permeability due to which fragments of troponin are induced in the systemic circulation which might result into a damage of monocyte and thus lessening the risks of permanent necrosis.
Studies have shown that those heart diseases which occur as a response to ischemia might co-exist with presence of cerebrovascular disease in some patients .As troponin helps in diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction. so it was also used as a diagnostic tool for number of other diseases, such as acute ischemic stroke. It has been
