Write a 8-10 page paper using 5 research articles about the question “Is Teaching A Profession?”

Students must read and report on FIVE recent (i.e., within the past 10 years) research articles related to a topic covered in the course. The report may cover any topic, but the articles must be drawn from either peer-reviewed and require prior approval of the instructor. 

For the reading report assignment, students 

1. will properly cite the sources, both within the text and in a reference list at the end, in APA format-other formats (e.g., Chicago Style, MLA, etc.) will not be accepted.

2. will provide a summary of the main points of the articles including

  a. what was the purpose of the research? 

  b. what did the researchers do? 

  c. What did they find? 

  d. What does it mean?), and 

3. will reflect on the personal implications of the reading (eg. How will this make me a better teacher, etc.). 

4. An abstract is not necessary for this assignment. 

Due to most students’ unfamiliarity with APA format, you are strongly encouraged to turn your papers in early for feedback. Please see the Paper Rubric for details on how it will be graded.
