However, it is increasingly becoming clear that hospitals lack the required supply of nurses to cater for the increased workloads. The staff mix depicted a multicultural set up with 60 percent Philippines, 30 percent whites and a minority of 10 percent blacks. This called to an inclusive culture where negative ethnicity or racism was highly discouraged. The attribute of cultural diversity was viewed as strength.
