1.  Do some research on the ideas and events that were taking place at the time Huxley wrote his story. (Your time frame should include approximately 20 years before the writing of the novel.  How have these influenced the content of Brave New World? 

2.  In what ways does our current society mirror the predictions Huxley made in his text?

3.  Choose TWO contrasting characters in the book, and discuss their importance in the text.  You will have to begin by writing character sketches of the characters you have chosen.

4.  Is the ending of Brave New World a satisfying (not necessarily a happy) one?  Why or why not?

5.  Discuss the development of Nora as a dynamic character in A Doll House.   

5.  Discuss the relationship between Nora and Torvald.

6.  When the play was originally produced, the ending, with Nora leaving her children, was so controversial that a "happy ending" had to be created.  Is the original ending a satisfying one for modern readers/playgoers?  Why or why not?

7.  What does Nora mean by saying she is waiting for a miracle?  Why would she choose that particular miracle?
