I work in the tutoring business and I do see it still today, especially with young girls trying to pursue STEM fields. I have had multiple young girls come up to me and be angry and sad that many of their teachers do not help them more with their STEM field interest. One girl did tell me that her science teacher told her that, “STEM fields are a more male centered field and that she would not like it”. I personally think it shows how many men and even women try to keep the STEM field male dominated. Personally, I always tell the girls that they should follow their own interest and have more self-belief. I think there should be more people trying to get into STEM fields in general though since there is a need for engineers and medical professionals.

Investing in women makes everything better because the more women are educated, the better pay they can contribute to their families. Money is not everything in the world, but it does make life easier. Also, having women that are educated can lead to smaller families which means that women can have a better impact on those children by providing them better access to healthcare, food, and academics support. I think being educated and being invested in can help a woman and her community greatly flourish in all aspects of social life.

Men are resistant to change because the change usually affects them the most. We see it today in all sectors of the society in which men start losing positions of power to women and feel threatened by it. I am not sure if men are more bothered with the idea of losing power of losing the position to a woman.
