Writing Assignment 6: Quoting a Source

Choose a passage of one or two sentences from the essay you read for this week, and include it in a full paragraph that will later be added to your exemplification essay.  Essay Topic/Expectations of a husband (OR Expectations of a Wife) Brady, Judy I' Want a Wife ." pp 306-308

Make a topic sentence with a main idea that supports your thesis statement, and explain it.  Introduce your quote and include it in the paragraph with correct punctuation, quotation marks, and parenthetical citation (p. 686).  Wrap up the paragraph by explaining the quote and its significance, tying it into your thesis and main idea.

At the end, create a Works Cited list with all of the necessary information for your source (see page 690, “Essay in an Anthology or Chapter of a Book”).  You will only have one entry in your Works Cited list for this paragraph.  Take a look at page 695 in the text to see a sample Works Cited list.
