You are the commander of the 1st ABCT, 4th Armored Division. Your brigade is currently positioned south of PL RED in the vicinity of IMISHLI 39STE5035314497. You are currently not in contact with the enemy.

For the last three days, the 4th Infantry Division has been facing a superior enemy mechanized force and has been forced to fall back from south to north, slowly wearing down the enemy while conserving the division's combat power. The division is currently preparing defensive positions to the north of the AKARS River in order to halt the enemy's expected continued advance.

Over the last three days, the enemy tactics have emphasized attacking aggressively upon contact and maintaining the momentum.  The enemy will generally try to overrun resistance with tanks, and it prefers to dismount infantry only when necessary for close combat. The G2 estimates that the enemy most likely course of action is to attack your positions with one mechanized infantry task force. The enemy order of battle will most likely consist of a tank company in the lead, and mechanized company trailing.  The enemy is estimated to approach IMISHLI in about 24 hours.  The population of IMISHLI is approximately 10,000. The G2 estimates the enemy strength at 90%.

Steep banks make it infeasible to cross the river anywhere except the bridge at IMISHLI without engineering preparation. The division commander has denied your Brigade's request to demolish the river bridge; the division wants to use the bridge for its counterattack within the next 48-72 hours.

Your mission is to delay the enemy in sector, south of PL RED, while protecting the bridge at IMISHLI for 24 hours. The battle handover line is PL RED. Your tactical air control party (TACP) says he thinks he can get 10 CAS sorties to assist in the fight.
