Discussion Prompt:  Economic Systems

“Economics is the study of how wealth is created and distributed” (Pride, Hughes, & Kapoor, 2023, 33). As your text further describes, wealth is “’anything of value,’ including goods and services produced and sold by business” (Pride, Hughes, & Kapoor, 2023, 13). Economic foundations of business play a very important role in how business is conducted throughout the world.

For this week’s discussion, compare and contrast the major economic systems as discussed in chapters 1-3 of your textbook and discuss why most countries are not purely one system, but are a “mixed economy.”

In your initial and response posts, be sure to use at least one academic resource to support your ideas. This source can be the course textbook, or any other resource that you find on your own.
