Ministers are encouraged to fight off such temptations. They are required to carry an attitude of humility everywhere they go, like the servant who even after carrying out his entire master’s work in the fields, still had the notion that he was an unworthy servant (Wiersbe, 2007). Peter emphasized the joy of serving. Christian ministers should have in mind that on the re-appearance of Jesus, worthy leaders will receive a crown of glory that will forever stay. The crown of glory is a metaphor for the reward that comes with serving God (Wiersbe, 2007). The ‘crown’ is an eternal gift and suggests that it will be a gift, open to all to see.
