You work at the Federal Reserve's National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Your boss has asked you to examine the impact of one trend in financial markets and institutions today. Your task is to read relevant Wall Street Journal articles and create a short report based on your research on one of the following potential areas:

For your selected area, you need to address the following points:
- Define and describe this trend. What does this trend refer to? What is the scope of its impact on financial markets and institutions?
- What do you think will happen in the next 5 years as a result of this trend? How about the next 10 years?
- What can finance students do now to better prepare for the impact this trend will have on their future careers?
You may answer the questions together in one short report. You may answer each question separately or you may combine your answers to all questions into one essay. The report must have Times New Roman 12 pt font, 1.5 spacing, and 1 inch margins. A minimum of four citations from Wall Street Journal articles is required. You may use other reputable sources as well, but at least four of your sources must be from the Wall Street Journal. A bibliography with consistent formatting of references is necessary, but it does not matter the specific style you choose (APA, MLA, or other styles are acceptable). Please aim for a word count between 600-1,000 words in length, but if you go over 1,000 words, that is acceptable.
