The Greeks feared their God very much and they had different stories for different Gods they worshipped. According to their belief, Zeus was the king of all Gods and there believed the existence of magicians and sorcerers, such as Medusa. The people of Athens strongly believed that their time had the ability to protect their city from natural disasters and wars.
