Review and Reflect
The review and reflect discussion board always seems to be the hardest for me to write especially when I found the entire course compelling. One of the best things I did like about this is that every assignment led to the final paper. That made each section easier to focus on the topic at hand and allowed for a better research capability to really understand what was being asked. It also made it easier to complete the final because we worked on throughout the entire course. Another thing I really enjoyed about this course is it did not contain intellipath. Instead it had a weekly discussion board that truly helps me better than the intellipath. I prefer to have the interaction with the discussion boards and seeing what other people revealed with their research. That to also helped me to gain a better understanding of the discussion topics and add to my learning perspective. As far as the topics for each assignment my feelings are the same across the board. Meaning I did not like one over the other and felt I really gained a complete understanding. Another important learning step was attending the live chats. I learn better from actually attending and asking questions at the time topics are being discussed. Also Dr. Beach led very informational chat sessions that also helped with the assignments and career advise.
The one thing I did learn was the supply chain management flows. I really enjoyed researching and learning about these flows, as they are very crucial to supply chain management. The three flows we learned about were information, financial, product and service flows. What these flows consist of is the communication, funding and actual product between the organization, the customer and the supplier (“Aluko”, 2016, para. 3-4). While the flows are very crucial to any organization, most can use improvements in these elements to enhance any business dealings between customers and suppliers. One of the things I did suggest as an improvement is centralizing all data in one location that way it would be easily accessible and visible for the entire organization. These three flows are different in context but it takes all three to operate a business therefore everyone should be able to locate such information.
There is nothing unclear to me with any of the course elements. After conducting the extensive research of the requirements anything that was unclear I now have a better understanding. As stated before I thoroughly enjoy the discussion boards. I think the interaction is a great way to learn and interact with other classmates. I really gain a great learning perspective when other makes suggestions on my main post. I most usually leave something out that others can see and once we start discussing it then I gain that clear understanding of the entire topic.
Lastly I cannot think of any approaches that could have yielded additional valuable information. I feel Dr. Beach discussed valuable information in the live chats to help make some of the assignments more clear, that may have been worded in difficult terms.
(Classmates) I want to wish everyone the very best in all your future endeavors. Whether this is your last class or you have more to follow. Whether you have your career lined out or you are still seeking to find that perfect job. For me this is the end of my education. I have landed a career I am very happy with and at this time am not planning on any more schooling. If you are looking for government work you may try www.usajobs.gov. This is where I applied to get my government job.
Dr. Beach, thank you again for a very exciting capstone. I have learned a great deal and you have been a true inspiration to me. I wish you the very best in all your future endeavors. I hope you enjoy your new home. I move into mine September 23, 2017. I absolutely loved this course. I am sorry I missed the last live chat as I was closing on my new retirement home that day.

The most compelling topic for me in this course was learning supply chain management overall.
I’ve been doing logistics all my life and just realizing that I never really understood what supply chain
logistics was. If I had to explain what I thought it was prior to me taking this class, I wouldn’t be able to
explain it. I’m amazed that for over 20 years I’ve been doing logistics, knee deep in dealing with supply
chain management and never really understood it.
Logistics was my profession then and still is today. I now have a much clearer understanding of
how this process works. I understand that everybody in the process from start to finish is part of the
supply chain. From the company that initially builds the product all the way to the product reaches the
hands of the customer. The company that delivers the product to the warehouse and to the customer. I
always wanted to start a business of my own one day but never had the knowledge to do so.
Understanding supply chain has given me more insight that give me more confident about starting a
business.
Participating in discussions is always a plus. Somebody always have another or a better way of
looking at things that helps your understanding. Reading my fellow classmate material gave more insight
on things that wasn’t clear about supply chain. I also learned information about companies I would have
never read about. I believe the discussion board is as valuable as intellipath. In the discussion board you
get clarity and in many cases a response that may clear up or help your understanding.
If there were more information that were needed, I would have to say there is a lot more for me
to learn about how the military achieve successful military supply chain. Being that this is my life
profession, I should know a lot more about how to be successful in that area. The internet provided a
more than enough information. I’m looking forward to finishing my degree in this area and pursuing
supply chain further.
