14 lines Iambic pentameter clear theme 2 DIFFERENT sonnets

In order to apply your knowledge of sonnets, you will write two different sonnets. One sonnet must be about love, and the other will be about the topic of your choice. Follow the directions below for how to write a sonnet.  

Sonnets:  

Your sonnet must contain 

• 14 lines

• Iambic pentameter

• A rhyme scheme that follows one of the poets we have studied.

• A turn in a place that makes sense.

• A clear theme

Rubric:  

Sonnet 1- 50%

14 lines - 5%

Rhyme scheme - 5% Iambic pentameter -15%

A turn in a logical place - 5% Clear theme - 10% Mechanics - 10%
