8 page Paper for language in Chinese society

Twice in the semester, students are requested to submit linguistic analytic reports, for which students need to draw upon concepts introduced in the course materials to evaluate supplementary journal articles that address issues of sociolinguistics in Chinese communities.

1. A double-spaced-eight-page report should include a summary of findings in the article and students’ judgmental critique over the contents presented in the article. Either English or Chinese should be consistently used throughout the full the paper.
