USE THIS LINK FOR 4 MODULES TO ANSWER.

The IRIS Center website contains a great deal of relevant resources and materials, so take some time to explore it. Scroll down and click on Reading, Literacy and Language Arts and click on the Modules. At the end of each module, and after you have answered the questions, you will reflect on the value of the strategies discussed in the Module, and how you would apply them to your own classroom lesson.

The purpose of the Module study is to provide you with supported and guided opportunities to apply the content knowledge you are learning in the course to an on-line module. The exercise afterwards will support you in learning to take notice of your own thought processes.  Making your thinking explicit is absolutely essential for providing explicit instruction. This is a memorable way of teaching what metacognition is as well as sensitizing you to your own cognition while providing me with valuable information about what you’re learning, how you’re thinking about it, and how you are able to go about applying it.

Check the chart below for the specific modules you will be required to complete. All modules are found under the category of Reading, Literacy, and Language Arts.  THE ATTACHMENT IS THE CHART FOR THE MODULES

Please clearly label each of your responses so it is clear which response goes with which question.  After you have read the module, answer each question under the “assessment section”.

At the end of each module, and after you have answered the questions, you will reflect, in a short essay, on the value of the strategies discussed in the module, and how you would apply them to your own classroom lesson.
